Doctor Simon Glew is a dedicated GP with years of experience both in the NHS and the private sector. Until June 2020, he practiced privately in Chelsea as well as Hove. This has enabled him to develop and maintain a network of trusted Consultants at the forefront of the medical field, both locally and across London.
Brighton and Hove are close to his heart, having trained as a GP in the area. He achieved the highest mark across Kent, Surrey and Sussex in the Royal College of General Practitioners clinical skills membership examination. Dr Glew combined his GP training with a Masters in Medical Research, for which he was awarded a distinction.
He has diverse hospital experience including working in paediatrics in two major hospitals, psychiatry, ear, nose and throat medicine, care of older adults and obstetrics and gynaecology. He has a further interest in sports and exercise medicine.
He has published research in paediatrics (including the management of children with fevers), ear nose and throat medicine, allergy, sexual health, haematology, SCUBA diving and created a technique to assess the quality of medical record keeping.
Dr Glew has always had in interest in education, having trained GP trainees, junior doctors and medical students throughout his career. This culminated in working as an editor on a GP journal, producing award winning educational podcasts and becoming Vice-Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners National Trainee Committee.

Doctor Walker trained in London at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine. She received her Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013, after training alongside Dr Glew in Sussex. She was privileged to be offered a partnership at her NHS training practice in Lewes where she also continues to work*. The most rewarding aspects of a career in General Practice for Dr Walker are the longstanding relationships she develops with patients founded on listening, establishing trust and providing continuity of care. Understanding an individual in the wider context of their life and their health concerns allows her to tailor the support she offers to best meet her patients’ needs. The decision to work alongside Dr Glew was an easy one to make as they share the same ideals of a holistic, patient centred and family based approach to General Practice. The Hove Practice offers both patients and doctors the precious resource of time to facilitate this.
Rebecca’s route to General Practice has been a circuitous one, which started in surgical specialty training. This was initially broad based encompassing Accident and Emergency, Neurosurgery and then a year in ENT but she then moved on to a training programme in Ophthalmology. She still enjoys good relationships with her consultant colleagues as a result of these posts.
She runs the ENT microsuction service at her practice in Lewes and still has a post working at Sussex Eye Hospital in the busy casualty department.
Her GP training bought experience in mental health, obstetrics and gynaecology, palliative care and care of older people.
Rebecca continues to develop clinical expertise to support her patients in primary care. She has a special interest in Headache Medicine which lends itself to her background in Ophthalmology and ENT.
She is currently working towards the Diploma in Family Planning and Reproductive Sexual Health, alongside Menopause Specialist training. The latter will see her join Professor Anne MacGregor in London later this year, for further development of enhanced clinical knowledge and to bring this training back into general practice for the benefit of her patients at the practice.Outside of work, Rebecca is married to a GP and has two young children. She is a keen open water swimmer and competitor in long distance swims.
