The Hove Practice provides the best that private healthcare has to offer, tailored to you. With plenty of time and experience, our Private General Practitioners will help you understand your symptoms, address both emergency and long term conditions, and optimise your health with our Well Person Programmes. We look after people of all ages: babies and young families, busy professionals, and older adults. Whatever your stage in life, we have a programme to suit you and your family.
Your Private GPs will get to know you, building a trusting and professional alliance between doctor and patient, ensuring a personal and responsive approach to give you the best care private medicine has to offer.
Although we practice exclusively private medicine, we can work closely and confidentially with your existing NHS GP, and provide you with general practice guidance and a second opinion. Registration at The Hove Practice does not require a commitment, nor do you have to live in Brighton or Hove; we care for patients all over the United Kingdom and will see you as much or as little as you need.
Need a Specialist? We refer both locally, across the South coast and to London, through our established network of trusted Consultants, each at the forefront of their medical field.
We offer comprehensive, sexual health and cervical screening service with rapid results available. Most cervical smear results are available within a week of your appointment and can be performed as frequently as annually should you wish.
Visit our dedicated Sexual Health Testing Page or our Cervical Screening Page for more information on our private, discrete and comfortable testing service.
Our Private General Practitioners are available to help you with any medical concerns and can provide multiple other services including blood testing, COVID antibody tests, travel vaccinations, osteoporosis injections, B12 injections, COPD and Asthma reviews, as indicated.
Please contact us with your specific requirements and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
We pride ourselves on the maintenance of a safe, welcoming practice environment even during the time of COVID-19.
In order to do so we have instituted a number of infection control checks and safeguards to minimise the risk to our patients and staff.
Please inform our reception team if you have recently tested positive for COVID-19 (either via Lateral Flow or PCR) are feverish, have a new or continuous cough, have lost your sense of taste or smell, or have been identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
These are the most common indicators of a possible COVID-19 infection, although please also tell us if you have symptoms of a 'cold' (runny nose, sore throat, ear ache, headache, muscle or joint ache.)
In order to keep the practice as safe as possible we encourage all patients and staff to wear a face mask in the building and regularly use sanitizing hand gel, although this is no longer mandatory.
Other infection control measures include regular disinfection and cleansing of high traffic areas in addition to our usual cleaning regime.
Social distancing within the consultation (apart from during examinations!) and ventilation of the rooms are also performed.
If you are suffering from COVID-19, a telephone or video review with a doctor can be performed to determine how best to help and manage your condition with the safety of all of our patients and staff in mind.
The Doctor may be able to complete your consultation and provide treatment remotely, and/or recommend you take a COVID-19 PCR test (lateral flow tests are currently believed to have reasonable accuracy in patients with symptoms) and/or invite you into an appointment at the end of the day. This enables ventilation of the room overnight and sterilisation after the appointment.
