In line with our privacy policy, your personal information is protected under General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation, as of May 2018. You trust The Hove Practice with your information, and we take your privacy seriously. We keep your details (basic details such as name, address, as well as physical and psychological health details) in medical records, accessed by our doctors and staff, in order to provide you with high quality medical care. We undertake to maintain these accurately with each visit, and store them securely.
We use a cloud-based computer system to store and process medical records, called Semble; this is fully GDPR and safety compliant. Data is stored safely on UK servers and encrypted in transit.
You have the right to access your medical records, and correct any inaccuracies free of charge.

We hope you will never have cause to submit a formal complaint.
In our experience, most issues can be managed quickly and informally and are due to misunderstanding. We really do want to provide you with excellent care at all times and are likely as upset as you are if you feel we have fallen short of expectations.
Our Practice Management Team are always just a phone call or email away (pm@thehovepractice.co.uk) and will act promptly to resolve any issue as simply as possible.
However, if you remain unsatisfied with the outcome, The Hove Practice follows a formal Complaint Resolution Procedure. You will find details of how to proceed and the process that will be followed in the file below.
This document has been updated to reflect the growth of our practice as of 6th January 2023. By continuing to use our services, or if you join the practice on/after this date, you are indicating your acceptance of these updated terms.
As an exclusively Private General Practice, finances matters are an integral part or providing your care.
Your General Practitioners are aware of the costs involved in providing their care, but can not know (nor assume) your individual circumstances.
Please discuss costs with your General Practitioner before you incur them.
Whilst the consultation charge is set, significant additional work requiring their time, items such as blood tests, swabs, urine tests (excluding urine dips in the practice which are included in your consultation fee), ECG and spirometry (lung function testing- not currently available due to COVID-19) are not and all incur additional fees.
Signs within our consulting rooms and/or your General Practitioner will advise you before performing any action that incurs an additional fee, unless it has been previously discussed/arranged.
Whether or not you are insured may effect the most cost effective way of investigating and managing your problem. Please review the document: "Patient Financial Safeguarding Advice and Our Pledge" for more information and/or discuss with your General Practitioner during your appointment.
Regular care, prescribing and condition management is ably provided by all at The Hove Practice, but you may wish to integrate this with NHS care. We will happily, and safely, support this.
